Bass, the dancefloor’s favorite four letter word, and Build128 is the Chef Du Jour. After spending the last few years flexing nuts playing 200bpm+ breakcore to crowds of bewildered onlookers, Oakland California based producer Jasper Reeder aka Build128 has switched gears to bring some severe gutter-thump to the dancefloor. A true genre-bender, Build128 twists elements of; Booty, Electro, Dubstep and Lazerbass with healthy servings of Hyphy and Crunk into finely crafted web of what can only be described as sheer subwoofer love. With enough trickery and a magnetic live performance Build128 has been able to turn even hard-nosed san francisco crowds into sweaty, nasty, dance-like-there’s-no-tomorrow parties. You can never really be sure of what kind of track Jasper will drop next, the only thing you can bank on is that it will have a bassline that rips through the audience like a slithering cattle-prod. Build128 is currently working on an e.p. of bassculture music due out in 2009 on Daly-City Records as well as gearing up for SXSW with his fellow clubwrecker Ben Sandoval on their collaborative project “Quitter”.
We like to give here at MC and Jasper has been kind enough to hook us up with the latest onslaught of his beats and bass. Once again, peep game.
