Mixed In Key launches Harmonic Mixing DJ Contest
The challenge: Contestants must showcase their favorite music genre in a 10-15 minute mix that will impress the world’s best DJs. The top winner receives prizes worth over $3000.
Washington, DC, September 1, 2009 – Mixed In Key, the company that produces harmonic mixing software, is launching a massive DJ contest. Contestants are invited to showcase their favorite music genre in a 10-15 minute mix. The contest is open until October 15.

Contest details:
1) Entry deadline: October 15, 2009
2) The mix has to be 100% harmonic
3) Judging criteria: The mix must inspire listeners to become fans of that music genre, take the listener on a journey, and showcase innovation in harmonic mixing. Bonus points for original choice of tunes and samples and complex transitions, build-ups and breakdowns.

A “15 minute journey” is kind of a contradiction where we come from, but the contest does sound kind of interesting. I think we’re going to give it a shot.
