Kastle’s “Time Traveler” EP Release Party – June 8 2011

Well kids, the day has finally arrived. Kastle‘s new EP “Time Traveler” has been released under Seclusiasis and it’s a good one. The EP contains six tracks, all of which I cannot get enough of (seriously). With the present overdose of heavy, growling, transformers-gone-electro music in the scene, Kastle’s sound delivers a perfect antidote which is well observed in Time Traveler. A personal favorite is “Walking Away”, a song that catches you with its upbeat intro and brings you much deeper with help from the vocals of the well known bass-oriented MC Armanni Reign and the sultry Domonique. Time Traveler is aptly named, with all the tracks’ vocal and musical samplings from the past twisted and arranged through the time-space continuum into a EP that is straight from the future.

In celebration of the release, Kastle is headed to New York City this Wednesday, June 8th, to bring all you east coast kids a heaping dose of groovy bass along with Todd Edwards, Dev79, and Sonkin. Not to be missed is an additional “late night R&B set” from the likes of one of the Trouble & Bass crew members. Both Todd Edwards and Kastle are the US’s championing pioneers of a new generation of electronic music, creating a unique sound that is a much needed complement and progression to the scene; needless to say I would keep a watchful eye, there are many big things on the horizon! Whatever it is you want to call it, future bass, street bass, future garage, UK funky, they’re guaranteed to be delivering in full force. I know I speak for many when I say Kastle’s sets are amongst the most memorable and stunning to witness; he is indeed from the future, flawlessly delivering a fresh and insightful set that puts a twinkle in your eye and a spark in your step (oh yeah, and guys… he can make your girl dance.)

As a bonus, Kastle has kindly provided the world with a brand new mixtape (via Percussion Lab) and an exclusive Media Contender download of one of his currently unreleased tracks, “I Mean Yes, We’re Sinking, But The Music Is Exceptional”. This is a little bit of a change from Kastle’s new EP, with a softer, much more calm melody to it. However, as a signature of Kastle’s to include bits of R&B tracks in his songs, a well nestled sample of R. Kelly’s “If I Could Turn Back The Hands Of Time” is present, and the grooves are still there, which goes to show Kastle’s ingenuity and depth while still keeping his trademark. The Percussion Lab mix, like all of Kastle’s mixtapes, is impeccable. I can listen to it all day, every day.

For a chance to win a package from Kastle, including a signed 12″ Time Traveler Test Pressing, a promo CD, and stickers, like his status on Facebook!
