If you were lucky enough to catch SPL’s set this weekend at the SMOG 5 Year anniversary event then you know that he unleashed some of the darkest and heaviest tracks of the evening. As a recent addition to the SMOG crew, SPL (aka Sam Pool) is no stranger to bass culture. He’s got a long list of previous releases and international performances and a hugely successful collab track “Lootin’ 92” he did with 12th Planet last summer. Today SMOG releases his brand-new Terraform EP showcasing his extraordinary talent with 4 behemoth tracks titled “Terraform”, “Essence”, “Mothra”, and a VIP remix of “Lootin’ 92.”

Shaping up to be another anthem from SPL, title track “Terraform” starts off on a catchy note with trancy pads that quickly lead their way into a brutal smashing of angry synth snarls and bludgeoning basslines. “Essence” takes a nod to the dungeon sound of London, with an SPL flavor of stabs and impressive build-ups. Like the nemesis of Godzilla, “Mothra”, a collaboration with New Zealand natives Crushington aka The Upbeats, stomps and crushes everything in its path. The final track on the EP is a VIP remix of “Lootin’ 92”, the track he did with 12th Planet.

Terraform EP is available exclusively on Beatport HERE and will be available in all other digital shops the second week of December.
